Yeshivat Sha’alvim
“Yeshivat Sha’alvim is a Religious-Zionist Hesder yeshiva in central Israel, near the Ayalon Valley between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. It has a strong Beit Midrash and is geared towards motivated post-high-school students who want serious Torah learning together with a strong connection to Eretz Yisrael and the Jewish people. The overseas program, which has been running for over 25 years, brings students mainly from North America, the UK, Australia and other countries to learn alongside Israeli Hesder students. The yeshiva places a strong emphasis on high-level Gemara, learning skills, middot and developing each student as an individual. The atmosphere is serious about learning but also warm and social, with strong relationships between students and Rabbanim, tisches, Shabbatons and tiyulim. Israeli students continue into the Hesder army framework, while overseas students generally use Sha’alvim as a gap-year or multi-year Torah program before continuing to university, professional life or further Torah learning.”
