Sderot Hesder Yeshiva
“Sderot Hesder Yeshiva is a large Religious-Zionist hesder yeshiva in the centre of Sderot, led by Rabbi David Fendel. Alongside its large Israeli student body, the yeshiva has an Overseas Program for students from abroad, making it an option for Anglo boys who want to experience a serious Israeli hesder yeshiva rather than a specifically English-speaking yeshiva. The atmosphere is lively, strongly connected to Torah, Israel and army service, with the boys learning, living and serving together. The yeshiva has a large rabbinic staff and different learning tracks, including support and close guidance for students who are at the beginning of their path in the Torah world. Israeli students go on to serve in the IDF, including combat and command positions, while graduates also continue into education, business, community work and further Torah learning. The yeshiva is also very involved in the city of Sderot and its wider community.”
