Yeshivat Ohr Yerushalayim (OJ)
“Yeshivat Ohr Yerushalayim (OJ) is an English-speaking post-high-school yeshiva located on Moshav Beit Meir, about 15 km west of Jerusalem. The yeshiva caters mainly to American and other English-speaking students spending a year or more in Israel. It has a strong focus on Gemara and serious Torah learning, together with an emphasis on developing a connection to Torah, Eretz Yisrael and Jewish life. The yeshiva is located in a quiet, religious moshav in the Jerusalem hills, giving it a more secluded and relaxed setting than the larger yeshivos in Jerusalem. Students come from a range of Orthodox backgrounds, including Modern Orthodox and more yeshivish backgrounds. The atmosphere is generally informal and personal, with a strong focus on the relationship between the talmidim and the Rebbeim.”
