Ohr Samayach Mechina
“Ohr Somayach Mechina is an introductory, multi-level yeshiva program for intelligent and motivated young men who want to build their Jewish knowledge and commitment, including students coming from limited or non-traditional Torah backgrounds. The program has a warm, open atmosphere and caters to students at different stages, from those beginning with basic Gemara, Mishna and Chumash to students developing the skills to learn Gemara and Rashi independently. Alongside daily learning, there are shiurim in Jewish philosophy, halacha and Jewish thought, with opportunities for personal learning with a rabbi or advanced student. Students come from a range of backgrounds and some combine yeshiva with university or work. It is flexible rather than a fixed one-year gap-year program, with students able to join during the year and stay for as little or as long as they choose.”
