Moreshet Yerushalayim

Jerusalem, Jerusalem

Yeshivat Moreshet Yerushalayim is a one-year, Sephardic post-high-school yeshiva in Jerusalem, primarily serving students from overseas. It combines serious Torah learning with a more broad-based Israel experience, preparing students for college, business and life while building a strong foundation in Torah and mitzvot. The learning is mainly done in interactive small groups, with close relationships between students and rabbeim. The program has a strong Sephardic focus, including Gemara, Tur and Bet Yosef from a Sephardic approach, halacha, community minhagim, hazzanut and taamim. The atmosphere is structured but fairly open and student-focused, with trips around Israel, sports, recreation and time to experience Jerusalem. Students are expected to attend minyan and shiurim and follow clear dorm and conduct rules, while having significant interaction with the staff outside the beit midrash as well. The typical student is a post-high-school Sephardic or Sephardic-background student looking for a serious but balanced year in Israel before moving on to college or further studies.
