Maale Gilboa
“Yeshivat Ma’ale Gilboa is a Religious-Zionist Shiluv yeshiva for boys looking for serious Gemara and Torah learning alongside an open and thoughtful approach to Judaism and Israeli society. The atmosphere is intellectual and fairly open, with room for questions, different perspectives and a strong focus on connecting Torah to real life. Most Israeli students spend around two years in yeshiva before doing full army service, with the option of returning to yeshiva afterwards. There is also a one- or two-year overseas program for students from the US, UK, Canada and other countries, who are fully integrated with the Israeli students. It is generally a good fit for an independent, thoughtful boy who wants a serious beit midrash but would find a more closed or traditional yeshiva environment too restrictive.”
