Mechon Meir

Jerusalem, Jerusalem

Machon Meir is a Religious Zionist yeshiva in Kiryat Moshe, Jerusalem, with students from Israel and around the world. It caters to both beginners and more advanced students, with a strong emphasis on learning Hebrew and becoming part of Israeli society. The English program is particularly suited to young men coming to Israel who want a serious Torah experience alongside an Israeli environment, including those considering Aliyah. Learning includes Gemara, Halacha, Tanach, Jewish philosophy and the teachings of Rav Kook, alongside an intensive Hebrew Ulpan. The atmosphere is strongly centered around Torah, Eretz Yisrael and personal growth, with students encouraged to experience Israeli life through Shabbat hospitality, friendships, trips and hikes around the country. It is a good fit for a student who wants a Religious Zionist, Israel-focused yeshiva and may be coming from a less traditional or less intensive Jewish background, while still offering higher-level learning for students with more background. The program is available for shorter periods as well as longer-term study and is geared in particular toward students looking to connect more deeply with Torah and life in Israel.
