Eretz HaTzvi
“Yeshivat Eretz HaTzvi is a Modern Orthodox, Zionist gap-year yeshiva in central Jerusalem, mainly for English-speaking students from the US, UK, Canada, Australia and other countries. The yeshiva is geared towards boys who want serious Torah learning but also want to continue into university and a professional career. The learning is not limited to Gemara, with students choosing from Tanach, Halacha, Machshava, Jewish history and other subjects. Eretz puts a lot of emphasis on students developing their own learning, observance and beliefs, and on grappling with complex questions rather than following a single approach. The yeshiva is relatively small, which allows for close relationships with the Rabbanim and a more personal approach. There is a strong Zionist and Israeli focus, with regular tiyulim, Israeli immersion, guest speakers and pre-army preparation. The yeshiva also has a mentorship program that covers learning skills, life skills, “big Jewish questions” and life after yeshiva. Rav Yehuda Susman is the Rosh Yeshiva. Students generally go on to university and careers, with a number also going on to serve in the IDF and make Aliyah.”
