“Yeshivat Otzem is a Religious-Zionist pre-military mechina for religious high-school graduates looking for a year of Torah learning, personal development and preparation for meaningful IDF service. The programme combines serious Torah study with physical training, field activities, volunteering and preparation for army life. Students come from a range of Religious-Zionist backgrounds and the atmosphere is active, communal and strongly connected to Torah, the State of Israel and army service. Otzem is a one-year gap-year programme before enlistment, rather than a Hesder yeshiva. It is particularly suited to boys who want a structured year of Torah and personal growth while preparing themselves for significant military service, including combat and leadership roles.”
